چکیده
Here we report successful thoracoscopic-assisted sclerotherapy of a large, prenatally diagnosed microcystic thoracoabdominal lymphatic malformation in a 3-month-old infant born at 38 weeks gestational age. Compression of the inferior vena cava and aortic displacement was demonstrated on imaging. Treatment options include medical management, percutaneous sclerotherapy, or surgical resection. The latter options were complicated by the location of this lesion. Therefore, sclerotherapy under direct visualization via thoracoscopy was performed with near resolution of the lesion after one treatment. This is the first description of treatment of a lymphatic malformation via this approach reported in the

Percutaneous Drainage and Povidone-Iodine Sclerotherapy of Cervical Lymphatic Malformation
Lymphatic malformations in cases with macrocystic lesions can be treated with surgical excision or sclerotherapy using alcohol, bleomycin, doxycycline, or OK-432. We report a case of a 24-year-old woman who underwent percutaneous drainage and povidone-iodine sclerotherapy as primary treatment for cervical lymphatic malformation. The patient underwent povidone-iodine sclerotherapy for 3 consecut...

Purpose: To assess the safety and efficacy of percutaneous image-guided sclerotherapy with doxycycline as primary treatment of intraabdominal lymphatic malformations (LMs). Materials and Methods: Retrospective review was performed of all cases of abdominal, mesenteric, or retroperitoneal LMs referred to a single center that were subsequently treated with image-guided percutaneous sclerotherapy....

Sclerotherapy and surgery are both effective treatment methods for lymphatic malformations.1,2 However, recurrence due to incomplete resection is a common problem, often necessitating multiple treatment sessions.2 Intralesional endoscopy has been described as a diagnostic approach and potential therapeutic tool.1,3 We report a case of a 12-year-old male patient who presented with a mainly subcu...

Although many head and neck surgeons agree that complete surgical excision is the treatment of choice for lymphatic malformation, the infiltrating nature of microcystic lymphatic malformations and the involvement of vital structures of the head and neck make total removal nearly impossible in most cases. Recently radiofrequency ablation was introduced for the treatment of microcystic lymphatic ...
